Veterans Hub at HopeFilly
A rural place to breathe, belong, and rebuild connection.
Welcome to the Veterans Hub at our Equine Assisted Therapy & Learning Centre, Church Hill, Weeford, Staffs. WS14 0PW - a calm, rural space created especially for those who’ve served, and those who are still finding their way after service.
Here, there’s no pressure, no expectations, and no “one right way” to take part. You choose what feels right for you, at your pace.
A place to reduce isolation and reconnect
-
Gentle connection: Come for a cuppa and a chat, sit quietly, or join in with others - whatever feels comfortable.
-
No judgement: Whether you stay for ten minutes or 2 hours.
-
Shared understanding: Spend time with people who “get it”, without needing to explain every detail.
This is a space where you can feel less alone, rebuild trust, and remember what it’s like to be part of something - on your own terms.

Relaxing rural location
Our Hub is set in peaceful countryside at Church Hill, Weeford.
-
Open skies and fresh air: Step away from noise, crowds, and constant demands.
-
Time to slow down: Walk the land, listen to the birds, feel the ground under your feet.
-
Safe, grounded environment: A place to decompress, reset, and simply be.
Sometimes just being outdoors, away from it all, is the first step toward feeling human again.

Get hands-on: create a vegetable plot
If you like practical, purposeful activity, you can help us grow something real.
-
Start or tend a veg patch: From digging and planting to watering and harvesting.
-
Do as much or as little as you want: There’s no minimum, no performance, just contribution at your own level.
-
See the results of your effort: Watch things grow over time - steady, visible progress.
Working with the land can be grounding, calming, and surprisingly satisfying.

Venue task force: maintenance with meaning
For those who like to “muck in”, we have a Venue Task Force - small, practical jobs that keep the Hub running.
-
Maintenance tasks: Painting, repairs, tidying, small projects around the site.
-
Flexible involvement: Dip in and out, take on a job, or just watch and chat.
-
Shared purpose: Be part of a team again, with clear tasks and visible outcomes.
-
It’s not about how much you do - it’s about having the option to do something that matters.

Meet the horses
Our Equine Assisted Therapy & Learning Centre is home to horses who play a special role in healing and connection.
-
Spend time with the herd: Watch them, groom them, or simply stand nearby and notice how you feel.
-
Non-judgemental presence: Horses respond to how we are, not who we’ve been or what we’ve done.
-
Gentle, experiential learning: Discover new ways of relating, calming your nervous system, and building trust.
You don’t need any horse experience - just curiosity and an open mind.

Do as much or as little as you need
