My Story

Hello I'm Sarah Heward

My name is Sarah Heward, and I am an accredited counsellor and Director of Tamworth Counselling Services, which I co-founded in 2002 with my colleague Tracie. I qualified as a counsellor in 2002 and have been fortunate to work continuously in the profession ever since.

I work from a person-centred perspective, as I believe this truly embodies what counselling is about. The power of talking within a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment cannot be underestimated.

I have extensive experience working in mainstream high schools and pupil referral units, supporting young people who face many challenges during their teenage years. It is a privilege to walk alongside them on their journey, helping them to bring about positive change, develop self-acceptance, and come to terms with what they cannot change.

Alongside this work, I have built a thriving private practice, working with individuals of all ages and with a wide range of issues. I also provide counselling through an Employee Assistance Programme. I am proud to have held counselling contracts within schools since 2002 and to know that this work has made a meaningful difference to so many lives.
