Service Description
Local Authorities, schools, and organisations are warmly invited to attend a free demonstration of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy & Learning (EAP/L) - an evidence based, experiential approach supporting children’s emotional wellbeing during the critical transition from primary to secondary school. About the Demonstration This live demonstration showcases how Equine Assisted Psychotherapy & Learning supports children through key periods of change by developing emotional awareness, confidence, and resilience. Unlike traditional interventions, EAPL is experiential and ground-based, taking place alongside horses in a calm, outdoor, non-judgemental environment. The approach supports: • Emotional regulation and resilience • Confidence and self belief • Anxiety reduction during transition • Engagement for children who struggle with traditional methods. No riding is involved and no previous experience with horses is required. Who Should Attend • Local Authority education, SEND, inclusion, and wellbeing teams • SENCOs and pastoral leads • Early Help and SEMH practitioners • Organisations supporting children with SEND, anxiety, or transition needs. Supporting Children Through Change For many children, moving to secondary school can feel overwhelming. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy & Learning offers a gentle, effective, and engaging way to help young people approach this transition with greater confidence, calm, and resilience. Why Attend? This demonstration offers the opportunity to: • Observe Equine Assisted activities designed for transition support • Understand how EAP/L aligns with SEND, inclusion, and early intervention priorities • Explore how this approach can complement existing provision Experience first hand how learning through interaction supports emotional wellbeing.
