Program Overview This 3‑day experiential programme supports Year 6 pupils as they prepare for the transition to secondary school. Using the Eagala Model, pupils explore identity, strengths, challenges, friendships, and future readiness through metaphor, herd dynamics, and non‑verbal problem‑solving. 🎯 Program Purpose To support Year 6 pupils as they prepare for the move to secondary school by strengthening: • Emotional regulation • Confidence and self‑belief • Communication and social skills • Problem‑solving and resilience • A sense of agency and readiness for change The Eagala model provides a safe, experiential environment where pupils explore transition themes through metaphor, herd dynamics, and embodied learning. Core Principles • No riding • Horses as active partners • Facilitators avoid interpretation • Solution‑focused, client‑led meaning‑making • Emotional and physical safety • Trauma‑informed practice 🌟 Programme Outcomes By the end of the 3 days, pupils will have: • Increased confidence and emotional readiness • A clearer understanding of their strengths • Strategies for managing change • Improved communication and teamwork skills • A sense of belonging and support • A positive, empowered mindset for Year 7 Programme Structure • 3 full days at the equine facility • Groups of 6–10 pupils • Led by qualified Eagala practitioners • No riding — all ground‑based • Trauma‑informed and neurodiversity‑affirming Learning Outcomes Pupils will: • Identify personal strengths • Develop communication and teamwork skills • Explore healthy friendships and boundaries • Build resilience and problem‑solving abilities • Understand their support networks • Increase confidence for Year 7 Who Benefits Most • Pupils with transition anxiety • Pupils with low confidence • Pupils with social or emotional needs • Pupils with limited engagement in classroom‑based transition work • Pupils who thrive through experiential learning
